Forms for Departments Inviting a J-1 Exchange Visitor

• Request for Form DS-2019 to Host a J-1 Exchange Visitor/Visiting Scholar
  Select this form to invite a professional who holds at least a B.S. degree with significant research experience for a stay at ISU lasting up to 5 years. Visiting Scholars in this category may be employed at ISU in their field of endeavor and are not required to enroll in ISU classes. This category is not appropriate for those who will hold tenure-track or permanent research positions.
  
  
• Request for Form DS-2019 for J-1 Students in Prescribed Nondegree Academic Programs
  Select this form to invite an individual who will remain enrolled as a student at a university outside the U.S. while conducting research at ISU as part of his/her degree program overseas. "Visiting students" in this category may stay for up to 24 months, may be employed, and are not required to enroll in classes at ISU, although they may choose to become nondegree students if they are admitted. This category is not appropriate for individuals planning to earn a degree from a U.S. university.
